VoIP Applications in iTunes App Store

Apple has approved VoIP application from Rebtel, a Stockholm-based company. At present, Rebtel is available to download from the iTunes store, as well as other VoIP applications like Skype. The service also works over AT&T’s 3G network, making it less necessary to have a Wi-Fi connection.

Although, Rebtel joins a growing rank of Internet telephony applications including Skype, Truphone, Nimbuzz, Fring and Vonage yet it is excited after getting green light from Apple and is looking forward to executing on some of the ideas they have planned for future updates.

No to third party Extras: Skype

In order to stay on top of the ocean of competition, companies are looking forward to give more powers to users in terms of building apps by the third-party developers. Thus extending value to their products and platforms as is the case with Apple, Mozilla and Facebook but it seems Skype does not want to be in the league.

It is preventing the third party developers to create add-ons for its VoIP service. Further, Skype won’t certify any new submissions however, all existing Extras will stay certified until their expiration dates and all unused test tickets will be reimbursed. The exiting Extras could be installed through the Windows desktop client and would be featured in the Skype shop. It will also continue to maintain its public application programming interface.

Users like to work on software that give them tools at their disposal, they like to relish the power by using them, by curbing rather cutting the Extra service, I hope Skype is not committing some mistake that would reflect in the near future. Or else may be conclude that Skype does not want to expand its base with the developers/users?

Molded in cloth, Azeitao cheese has a rustic appearance. It looks like a flattened cylinder, without definite edges but with a yellow crust. The paste, yellow too, is buttered, creamy, soft, smooth; with a little bit or none grains and shuted texture, with a cutting part easily deformable. The older the cheese is, the harder and drier the paste will get and the more intense the flavor will be.

One of the best ways to eat it is to cut open the top and scoop its yellow cream onto slabs of
nutty bread.

China's inflation rate soars

The nation’s main inflation gauge spiked to 7.1 percent last month, the National Bureau of Statistics said, pushed up by an 18.2 percent rise in food prices, with the cost of pork jumping 58.8 percent compared with a year ago.

But it also reflected a trend that worsened throughout 2007, despite a wide range of government measures aimed at keeping a lid on prices and reining in the nation’s economy, which expanded at a 13-year high of 11.4 percent.

Starbucks closes thousands of coffee shop

Starbucks coffee lovers were deprived of their caffeine fix for an agonizing three hours Tuesday, as the firm closed its 7,100 shops across America to train staff to brew the perfect cup of joe.

The Seattle, Washington-based company described it as an “historic in-store education and training event” designed to “energize partners and transform the customer experience.”

Maglev System

This SkyTran system operates with individual, two-passenger vehicles, which are propelled and suspended by a maglev system from overhead guideways. These are laid out in a one mile by one mile networked grid throughout the city. A large number of small departure and exit portals are placed underneath the guideways at approximately every 400 metres or at every city block.

SkyTran has no fixed routes or timetables. Users can simply enter any departure portal, get into the first empty vehicle in the queue and select their destination. The vehicle then speeds up on the acceleration lane and enters the high-speed overhead guideway.

Presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama waged a tight campaign fight across Ohio on Sunday two days before crucial voting that could virtually nail down the Democratic nomination or prolong the party battle into the spring.

McCain, with dwindling competition from the only other major Republican candidate, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, took the day off. A big night on Tuesday could put McCain very close to the 1,191 delegates he needs to clinch the Republican nomination at this summer’s party convention.

RIM BlackBerry

As with nearly all patents the fact there is some technology patented apparently means nothing, this patent actually dates back as far as mid 06. However, RIM is onto something, and most know with the intro of Apple’s iPhone every handset maker is turning to interface design.

There are whispers about that not into the too distant future the world will see a touch-screen BlackBerry, and well the logical next step would be the addition of a full QWERTY keyboard as well.

With nearly 100% of the ballots counted, the election commission has announced he won 70.23% of the vote.

Mr Medvedev said he hoped to work in an “effective tandem” with Mr Putin as his prime minister.

As president, he said, he would control foreign policy with the defence of Russian interests his chief priority.

Mr Putin, he confirmed, would be moving out of the Kremlin.
